On a 920/921 the maximum TDT is 1920. Pressing options 605 then using the left arrow key on the remote will take you to the Diagnostics G screen. The TDT count will be a 4 digit number near the center of the 1st row.

In the image above the TDT = 1672

However, the TDT (transponder definition table) count is not all there is to the number of channels, since several virtual channels can share a TDT record, each with a different service number. The VCT (virtual channel table) has a maximum of 7425 entries, this is the maximum number of channels the 4DTV can store.

However, as the others were pointing out, the TDT is probably the limiting factor as this is closer to its limit than any of the other tables. The current TDT is around 1680 and the current channel count is around 4380, though the numbers may vary from unit to unit.

The only way I know of to clear the TDT is to do a Master Reset.

See http://my4dtv.tripod.com/mr.htm

If you have a 920 or 921 you will need to call your programming provider after doing an MR to get the receiver reauthorized.
