Hi !!

I just wanted to ask if anyone could help me decide which LNB to purchase for my new 4DTV. I own a brand new 12' Orbitron dish. I don't know whether to go for the CalAmp or the Norsat.

Your feedback will be much appreciated !!!

Thanx.

With any dish, the best improvment you can ask for is a well tuned dish. Beyond that a lower degree lnb will have minimal change to your picture on a 12' dish compared to a 7.5' dish. Reason is a 12' dish collects more signal = better picure. A common misconception of lnb's is: people always go for the lowest # they can get their hands on. Which will make a difference, although the typ.db gain is more important as far as a clean picture is concerned. The common db gain for an lnb is 62-65. 65 of course being better. Lnb's however are the opposite, the lower the temp. rating the better. Norsat lnb's are better than Calamp. A big difference in your picture?? Probably not. Good luck

When I got my receiver last year , I had a 35 degree lnb
I was told that I needed a lower degree one to be able to
get all the digital channels. So I bought a lower degree one
cause I thought that it was supposed to be better. Well about
a month after I got it, it quit working and I started to use my
35 degree one and wow, the picture was the same . I think
I got taken for a ride.

Hi Rick,

I have had better luck with Norsats as opposed to Cal Amps.

My 2 cents worth.
