Help!
My dish has completly stopped moving. I updated my system to a 4DTV unit about 3 months ago and it was working fine until yesterday. I assumed it was the cheesy actuator that I installed a few years ago so I puchased a new one (and a new LMB) and installed this moring but it still doesn't work. I can hear the relays clicking in the reciever and have checked to make sure my limits were set right. Does anyone know what voltage is supposed to be at the rear of the reciever? I've checked with a volt meter but didn't really get much but was unsure if it is supposed to be a square wave or just a dc voltage.

Thanks,
Darrel

Don't know what a square wave is but it should be 24 volts
DC. (maybe 18). All I know a 12volt car battery works great
to test the actuator with no load.

You should be able to test across the two disconnected term-
inals. There will only be a pulse because of no movement
sensed by the reed switch.

Just checked M1 and M2 rated at 24V 4 amp max.

Thanks Brad! I'm not getting anything out of the back of the unit with all the motor wiring disconnected, even for a short instant. I popped open the unit and found the power supply for the drive motor and had about 30 volts coming out of it. However, when I attempted to change satellites and the relays clicked on the voltage dropped to zero... then when the relays clicked off again the voltage jumped back to 30. Looks like the power supply is hosed. I've placed a call to my dealer and now have to try to put it all back together before he comes over.

Thanks Again,
Darrel

Sounds to me like the PS is fine, but you have a short in one of the relays, or across the output terminals!

hth,
