My new 4DTV receiver in the Pacific Time zone consistantly
shows Mountain time (or perhaps standard Pacific time) instead of Pacific
Daylight Time. How can this be remedied? Stanford Shaw |

It's your programming provider that sets your time zone and daylight savings time flags. Get with them and have them correct the entry and then send you a rehit. If this does not correct the problem, let GI know your zip code. It's possible they have your zip code in the wrong time zone. |

Thanks. My programmer in fact tried to change it, but
without success. However this morning I called General Instrument which
did it right away. Stanford Shaw |

I would treat this with guarded optimism. Your Service
Provider controls the Unit Information messges that are sent to your
receiver. GI can send you a one-time hit to fix it, but if the Service
Provider has you entered into their database incorrectly (e.g., not
in DST when you should be), then as soon as your 4Dtv receives another
Unit Information message from them, the clock will be wrong once again.
Just so you know in case it reverts back to the wrong time. In the vast majority of cases, the Service Provider's database is in error. - The 4Dtv Dude |
