Message: Body:	I read somewhere that the scale for picture quality ran from 0 (best) to 133 (worst). When I checked mine, (Options,6,5,G) it read 122. That doesn't sound too good - but how meaningful is it & how can I improve the quality? The picture seems O.K to me, but I've just recently upgraded from DSS system, which I couldn't watch whenever it rained, it tiled so bad. After only 6 months, the RCA receiver just died, & I threw the whole thing in the trash. But anyway, does anyone know about these quality ratings? Thanks

I can't think of a reason to worry about that number. To see the quality number in real-time, use Diagnostic screen C (139-0 scale) or Options-5 (0-99 scale.) The other thing is that above a certain threshold, quality improvements will not affect the picture. What I mean is that your eyes cannot tell the difference between 50% on the quality scale and 100% on the quality scale. There are reasons to improve the quality, it gives you margin for when the wind blows and components age. You just won't notice an improvement in the picture if you are already above threshold.
