There are three RFCs (Request For Comments) that contain information relevant to the structure and motivation of dhcp and attendant programs. However, the DFSG-free-ness of distributing RFCs has come into question, so they have been removed from this package.
The relevant RFCs are: 951, 2131, and 2132. RFC archives can be found many places on the web, including: www.faqs.org.
